Good. Let’s begin…

The personal development industry has let people down.

How so?

Because it does not live up to its promise of accurately answering this ultimate question you have asked. The industry tiptoes around, either through ignorance or because it’s too afraid to tell you the truth.

I don’t like unanswered questions.

Like you, I am a truth seeker. As a purpose coach, it’s what I do…

I answer this question for people, one-on-one, every day.

And it changes their lives forever.

After years of trying different careers, from pro hockey player to airline pilot and finally to author and speaker, I learned the hard way that this is my purpose in life. How about we find out yours now…?

The easy way!

But you may wonder, how could I possibly tell you what your purpose is in life without even meeting you?

You’re about to find out, as have thousands of other people around the world from my books and courses (keep reading for a free copy of this bestselling book, “The You Code.”!)

Please dedicate some time with me here, the time such a question deserves, and I promise you will have your answer…

… for free.

At the very least, you will walk away from here with a far tighter range of options to consider, because you will know who you are and why you are here…

I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Here’s why…

Okay, ready?

Let’s proceed, starting with a couple of basics to set the scene and lay down some clues:

1. Why we ask what our purpose is in life

2. The pay-off of knowing your purpose

Why we ask what our purpose is in life

The first clue towards revealing your purpose is in the question itself…

“What is my purpose on Earth?” is a question that soul-searching humans have asked for time eternal. The question is fused into our very genes.

Why?

Purpose Coach James Sheridan

Why ask the question: “What is my purpose in life?”

Why should answering this question, especially as we mature, tug at our psyche so persistently?

A more negative way we ask this question is, “What’s the point in it all?” or “Is this all there is?” but it’s all really the same question being asked in different ways:

“What is my purpose?”

What’s behind that question is a belief that we need to be of service to something greater than ourselves, or why would we ask the question?

Why would we care?

We would simply get on with our selfish little lives as the rest of the animal kingdom does, right?

“What is my purpose?” is effectively the same as saying, “How can I be of service?”

Something deep inside makes us feel good when we are contributing, helping, and being useful.

I’m sure you know that feeling?

And we are going to find out what “service” you should provide to the world… your gift must be given.

But there’s a lot in it for you, too…

Find your purpose, embrace it, make it the sun in your personal universe, and you will never work another day in your life…

Do what you’re here to do, and the money will follow…

The Pay-off of Knowing Your Purpose

The payoff for answering the question, “What is my purpose?” correctly is passage
to what I call, “the bliss state.”

Your bliss state is where both time and your mind are still. Work is not work if it’s meaningful.

We don’t watch the clock when time stands still.

How knowing your purpose fixes anxiety

Knowing your purpose and engaging in it is a state of bliss…

“Purpose” is what you were meant to do on a day-to-day basis, not necessarily as a job or for reward, but rather meaningful work, and it involves a bittersweet balance. This is why purpose sometimes gets confused with passion; passion is usually something like a hobby or a vice that brings pleasure. When you enter your bliss state, you feel a sensation of being humbled and hollowed out that can only be described as love. And in that moment you feel chosen, you feel love flow through you, and you begin to love yourself.

Knowing your purpose gives you self-confidence…

There is no higher esteem to be found than knowing who you are and being proud of who you are, in other words, when you possess self-confidence that nobody can degrade.

Knowing your purpose makes self-motivation automatic…

The dreams that come true are those forged in the fires of our bellies, and it takes having a purpose-centered dream to ignite the required will that lies dormant within us.

Purpose is truth…

Your true colors shine vibrantly when living a life according to your personal truth, when you aren’t living a lie.

Once you know who and what you are, everything in life suddenly falls into place because your inherent purpose becomes obvious, and this plots a course to happiness on a life map that’s specific to you.

Great.

You were probably already sold on the idea of knowing your purpose, and if not, you must be now (I hope!).

Next, let’s really tackle the gorilla in the room of the personal development world. I aim to begin where most other places finish…

Let’s now find out what your purpose is in life…

How knowing your purpose makes life decisions easy

Who you are tells you why you’re here

“Just be yourself” you are often told, and rightfully so, but how can you truly be yourself if you don’t know who you are?

Same goes for, “You have to love yourself before you can properly love another.” How can you love yourself if you don’t know who you are? Can you love someone you don’t know?

Better advice is “Know thyself,” but how can you accomplish that?

The Law of Attraction says you can have anything you focus on, but how do you know what to focus on?

Soooo…

Let’s back up.

Your purpose in life is a function of who you are.

You need to know your true self as the starting point. And there’s where the personal development and psychology industries hit a dead end.

Giving you specifics on you who you truly are and why you’re here is something that nobody is offering- they just give you tips on how to figure it out for yourself…

But not I.

You’ll soon know exactly who you are.

I will hold up the mirror, and you will see the truth that has been steadily buried since your birth.

Before that, I must prepare you.

Prepare you for what?

Possible shock.

As I said previously, it can be a shock for some people to suddenly see their true self, their soul, fully laid bare in every detail.

I’m not being dramatic; I see it all the time with my own eyes…

Some people will be in flat-out denial when they discover their personal truth and may even become angry.

Why is this?

Because you’re not one person…

You’re two people:

1. True self.
Your nature, who you were born as and who you were born to be. Your biology.

2. False self.
Your nurture, the influences that were dumped on you since birth. Your biography.

Two people. One of them is secretly driving you, desperate for your acknowledgement. And one of them is getting in the way, full of doubt and insecurities.

Nurture is like mud on the golden spirit of your true nature, and it must be wiped away, as I explained in this interview with the great Jack Canfield, New York Times bestselling author of Chicken Soup for the Soul.

The true self underneath the “mud” of nurture

Will the REAL YOU step forward?

Hearing conflicting voices in your head doesn’t make you insane; it makes you human.

This duality of the human condition has inspired stories from The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to The Incredible Hulk. The Lord of the Rings eloquently portrays this duality, especially through the character of Gollum, who refers to himself as “we.”

Take control of your personal legend

Why is this important to know?

Because your false self, also known as “ego” will be fighting for survival once your true self, your soul and spirit, is brought into the light.

Remember that part in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi?

Take off your mask to reveal the true self

A dying Darth Vader says (emphasis his), “Take off my mask so I can see you with my own eyes.” Luke lifts the mask from Vader, peeling away Vader (false self) to reveal the true self of Anakin Skywalker.

The ego must be pushed aside to set your true self free.

And it doesn’t go without a fight…

Hence my warning.

There’s a reason why movies like Star Wars struck a deep chord with the global population…

Because they spoke to our soul.

And because, in a metaphorical way, they gave you instructions for the ultimate and inevitable journey within…

a journey I ask you to take here with me, NOW.

What will you see in the mirror?

“Now I am nimble, now I fly, now I see myself under myself, now a god dances within me.” – Friedrich Nietzsche.

I want to make your personal “god” dance within you now.

Are you ready to reveal your true self, so that you may know your purpose in life?

Time to liberate the “god” inside you

Ready to discover your “superpower”?

Yes?
